Terry Weston

Terry was born in Liverpool 8 and currently lives in north Widnes in the borough of Halton. He is married to Cathy and they have two grown up daughters. Terry began his engineering career as an apprentice technician and worked for 20 years in several different sectors of the industry pursuing an early career in engineering maintenance, making a career change into technical training eighteen years ago.

 

In 2015 Terry took on the role of Chief Executive Officer at the Engineering College (GTA) in Merseyside and is a member of the LEP’s ‘Making It’ Board for advanced manufacturing. Terry is also a non-executive Director with Cogent Skills. He is actively working with employers in the development of Apprenticeship Standards to improve technical skills training for the industry. 

 

Terry’s passion for engineering, and helping young aspirational engineers to make similar career journeys, has been his personal motivation. Throughout a busy career he also found the time to serve for sixteen years in the Territorial Army as a missiles section commander and a command post officer.
