For Consultation - ST1395 E&M Support Technician Standard

Over the past 10 months GTA England has been pleased to chair a group of Engineering sector employers and specialists to develop a Level 3 Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician Apprenticeship Standard. This apprenticeship is to replace the current pathway 13 – Technical Support Technician in the Engineering Technician Standard (ST0457).

 

Following approval of the occupational proposal by the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education in August 2023, we would like to invite you to comment on the Level 3 Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician Standard before it is finalised for submission for Government approval.

 

A copy of the standard is attached to this post which defines a series of duties commonly undertaken in the sector, along with the knowledge, skills and behaviours associated with each duty.

 

Please use the link below to access the short survey to provide your views on the standard, including any suggestions for changes which you would wish to see to make the standard useful to your business. Responses will be treated in confidence.

GTA England, the national network of 30 Group Training Associations and leading employers, is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Head of Operations to join our leadership team. Crucially, managing the daily business operations which deliver activities to meet targets and member needs driving the provision, growth, and financial stability of our influential network. The Head of Operations also contributes to the development of strategic plans with members of the Board. This is a key role requiring high level influencing of people and organisations external to the organisation ensuring the delivery plan is constantly evolving to respond and reflect the needs of members and the sector. This position requires a dynamic leader who can maintain a strategic membership base while actively engaging with employers and other organisations to grow membership. The post is full time and home working base is required. For the right candidate, the salary scale will be £55,000 to £65,000 range and the starting point is dependent on experience.
